Senior Purchaser region the Haque

The Senior Purchaser works in the Purchasing department and is the team lead of a small but enthusiastic team. The position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO). As the Senior Purchaser you will complement the purchase team.

 

You are engaged in the development of partnerships with relevant suppliers, and contracts for the supply of (critical) spare parts. You are responsible for setting up maintenance of frame agreements for repetitive products.

Your role

  • Follow up requisitions from the vessels, inquires/evaluate offers and placing orders in co-operation with the technical superintendent;
  • Requesting and evaluating quotes based on costs and technical specifications;
  • Implement Company policy and Procedures as related to the procurement and supply onboard, ensure that the vessels are supplied with the required materials and services in the due times;
  • Able to see opportunities to improve policies and procedures;
  • Assist and provide feed-back to the superintendents on purchasing and forwarding issues;
  • Advice and challenge to the superintendents on possible suppliers and commercial aspects;
  • Contract management, creating and negotiation contracts;
  • Follow market developments;
  • Develop and maintain supplier relations;
  • Ships visits;
  • Wherever possible, you will contribute to continuous improvement of the relevant procurement processes.

What they expect from you

  • Nevi 1 or CIPS or other relevant courses for sourcing;
  • At least 5 to 7 years in purchasing with Shipping, Offshore or Shipyards Companies;
  • Proven contracting experience;
  • Good communication and negotiation skills;
  • Management skills: e.g. coaching, delegate, integrity;
  • The ability to create and maintain good working relations within the team, with internal stakeholders (technical department, vessel crew, finance department);
  • Strategic act and thinking;
  • Good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing;
  • Results driven, common sense and hands-on mentality;
  • Full-time employment.
  • Have the right to work in Netherlands.
