Looking for an experienced Operations / Commercial Manager

Your role: 

The main objective of the Operations/Commercial Manager is the development, performance, and maintenance of the operational and commercial processes to obtain maximum efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the company.

Job Description:

The job description of the Operations/Commercial Manager includes:

  • Execution of the projects, financial invoicing and operational contact with clients
  • Budget planning
  • Ensure, plan and control the process of vessel’s high-quality service, technical status, and crew’s safety in coherence with the technical, commercial, QHSE and crewing departments. 
  • Manage client relationships, identifying opportunities for new contracts
  •  Bid on new projects and negotiate contract terms
  •  Management of subcontractors
  •  Maintaining beneficial relationships with clients, suppliers, vessel owners and other business partners.
  •  Coordinate vessel movements.


The Operations/Commercial Manager is responsible for:

  •  The day-to-day management of the Commercial administration,
  •  The correct execution of tasks assigned by the Vice president / COO.

Job requirements:

Minimally the following training/experience is required for this function:

  • Operational knowledge and organizational skills, in the maritime industry, are key to this position.
  • Minimum of 5+ years working experience with a similar or affiliated working field.
  • Sailing experience as Master/ Captain or Chief Officer vessels is a plus.
  • (Offshore) Experience within the shipping industry.
  • MBO/HBO education level with a relevant Nautical education.
  • Fully proficient in the use of Microsoft Office software and experience with windows-based programs.
  • Flexible attitude, team player
  • Good verbal and written expression skills in English and Dutch.
  • Commercially minded
  • Good administrative, communication and social skills.​
