3rd Officer, workfield Artic Circle

Do you like challenges and a beautiful view over the Artics on a Special designed Artic Heavy Load Cargo Vessel, with the most advanced sports accommodation on board for the long journey . Rotation 12 weeks on / 12 off

General responsibilities:

  • To assist the master, acting as navigation and radio officer and executing bridge watches.
  • To assist with deck operations, including preparations for cargo operations.
  • Being navigation officer, to familiarize himself with navigation instruments, regulations and work procedures.

Specific responsibilities:
The Third officer is as navigation, responsible for:

  • Safe navigation and immediately report potential incidents, safety and environmental hazards direct to the master.
  • Act as radio operator; if applicable.
  • The Third officer will assist the Second officer with the maintenance and inspection of safety equipment:
  • Maintenance of lifeboat, rescue-boat, fire fighting and lifesaving equipment
  • Maintenance of all navigation equipment including flags and signals.
  • Maintenance of ship’s maritime library consisting of regulations and guidelines.
  •  Preparation of route/passage planning.

Requirements:

  • Certificate of Competence: “Officer of a navigational watch/ no limitations”
  • Seaman’s book if flag state requires
  • Higher vocational nautical school
  • All courses needed for position

 

  • Experience with similar vessel preferred
  • Fluently English spoken and written
  • STCW certificates
