Supervisor Yard, Region Amsterdam

For one of the largest shipping companies in the Netherlands. with their head office located in Amsterdam, we are looking for their warehouse, also in Amsterdam, for an enthusiastic Supervisor .

The role

In this role, you will be the linchpin of their Yard's logistics together with the warehouse employees. You will be the point of contact and the driving force for the smooth running of operations. You keep track and ensure that the work is carried out in time, efficiently and according to the established processes/guidelines and you keep the systems up to date. Additionally, you roll up your sleeves for daily tasks.

Daily tasks at the Yard include:

• Loading outgoing and unloading incoming goods;
• Processing incoming and outgoing shipments;
• Checking and booking incoming purchase orders;
• Preparing and dispatching orders;
• Booking goods in and out (processing packing slips);
• Sorting and inspecting (return) materials and carrying out maintenance work on materials;
• Administrative tasks;
• General operational support from site.

We are looking for a colleague who feels at home coordinating, supervising and participating in daily activities, who enjoys working outdoors and is used to working with stock systems. In addition, you are flexible, precise, alert and independent and preferably have working experience in the maritime sector.

Your profile

• Minimum MBO-4 working and thinking level with logistics or technical education;
• Management capacities;
• Forklift certificate is a plus;
• Technical affinity / knowledge;
• Communicative skills and an able planner and organiser;
• Experience in shipping is a plus;
• Excellent knowledge of Dutch and English, both verbally and in writing.
